This post is a little late, due to being on holidays and getting caught up at work and just feeling lousy.

As things stand I will not be buying an iPhone. It’s not the cost of the phone, I would have bought version 1 at full price. It plans that Rogers is offering that mean HELL NO. 

As an example in the USA $60.00 gets you unlimited data, Rogers super best wonderful plan for $115.00 gets you 2 GB.  In listing to a number of people in the USA 2 GB lasts 2 days to 2 weeks. If they offered $60.00 for the 2 GB and $100.00 to $115.00 for the unlimited I could live with. I would not be happy but I would know what my bill would be, instead of surprises every month. The penalties are stiff if you go over your plan. As soon as I heard about the plans I joined and I donated to the cause. The rates are better than what Rogers was showing for other smart phones but they are still not good enough. 

It’s not just Rogers, it all the Canadian carriers have data plans that are a joke compared to plans in the USA. If you are going to do much more that check your loto numbers. Check your e-mail, between business and personal account not including SPAM I average 100 a day 7 days a week.

I would love to keep up with Twitter, Plurk and on my iPhone but with these rates I would be over my limits quickly. 

I am so mad at these rates that I would not even try to get one as my work mobile phone.

Maybe they are more people in Canada who have money to burn than I think there are but I do not see the iPhone being adopted at the level it was/is in the USA.

I guess what I am trying to say to Steve Job’s is “you cut the best deal with Rogers you could but this Apple Fan will not be getting on the iPhone train”
